This Vintage Chippendale style Mahogany Serpentine Front Writing Desk by Statesville Chair Co. has been completely stripped of its original finish, treated for woodworm, thoroughly cleaned and repaired. It has been hand painted in “Chestler” by Fusion. Described as “A complicated blue green that is boasting with depth and intention.” The drawer fronts and legs have been oiled and polished to a subtle sheen.
The fall-front desk door reveals cubby holes that rest over a row of four small inset drawers. The four dovetailed drawers feature serpentine frontage, with the top drawer carved out of solid genuine mahogany wood, revealing the most beautiful grain.
The insides of the drawers were then polished with our all-natural, in-house made wood balm with beeswax to protect and give a subtle buffed sheen.
Standing on traditional low cabriole legs with ball-and-claw feet and flaunting its serpentine curves, this unusual piece oozes character and will add sophistication and style to any room it graces.
